Easter Weekend Getaway in Lake Placid

On Friday night, Alex and I decided to go on a little getaway to Lake Placid. Although it was super spontaneous, we were able to book an awesome hotel right in the village and it was a great restful weekend away.

On Saturday morning we arrived in Lake Placid with the full day ahead of us to explore. We spent the remainder of the morning walking around the town of Lake Placid, checking out the cute shops and taking in the beauty of Mirror Lake. I took some photos in my two favourite shops, Saratoga Olive Oil Company and Mary Ballou Designs.

Saratoga Olive Oil Company is a beautiful store that had at least 100 different types of infused olive oil… and they were ALL delicious. I am a balsamic addict so I picked up a bottle of Wild Blueberry Balsamic which I can’t wait to drizzle over a salad this summer.

Mary Ballou Designs is a cute little card shop that had so many beautiful, handmade cards with images from the Adirondacks and witty catch phrases. I definitely recommend stopping into this shop if you love cards, it is totally worth it.

After some shopping we stopped at the Pickled Pig for a bite to eat on their patio. We ended up sharing some nachos, which were awesome and sipping on a couple raspberry mules in the sunshine with our pup.

Sunday morning we headed to Easter Service at a local church and then to Whiteface Mountain for a Gondola ride. It took about 15 minutes to reach the top and the view was amazing. Even with a few clouds in the sky we could still see for miles.

The rest of the afternoon was spent at our hotel, sipping mules by the fire and taking in the view outdoors when it wasn’t raining. An Easter weekend for the books!
