Tropical 23rd Birthday

A few weeks ago, I rang in 23 Tropical style, with some awesome ladies by my side. It’s always nice to spend time with the ones you love most, extremely thankful they all took the time to be there, love you guys!

I had the idea to throw a Tropical dinner party after being inspired by a pineapple flower vase. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn’t have the same idea and poured down all afternoon, scaring me into throwing my tropical bash inside. I think it still turned out pretty cute, although it definitely would’ve been gorgeous out in our back garden, with my mom’s hibiscuses to complement.

The pineapple vase may have been what I was most proud of… sangria coming in a close second. I used these Pinterest instructions to make the vase, although if you don’t have a corer, I wouldn’t recommend making more than one as you’ll end up wasting a lot of the pineapple. Once I had the vase completed I took a combo of wild flowers and some I picked up at the florist to make an arrangement.

I found these super cute tropical garland at Michaels for “BOGO” and picked up some tropical straws and napkins at Target (a special thanks to my boyfriend for living in the U.S. because… we. all. LOVE. Target.)

For vino, I opted to bring out my stellar mixologist skills… and whip up a red and white sangria. Who am I kidding, my best friend Piper was totally the brains behind this one. She’s the real sangria master.

Lastly, to finish everything off, I bought a few bouquets of fresh flowers and picked some special peonies from my mom’s garden to scatter a few floral arrangements around the kitchen to add some colour and freshness.

Annnnd if you LOVE these rose gold balloons and live in Durham Region I got them from Floating Creations Balloons. Pauline is awesome, I texted her super last minute and she made it happen! Thank you again Pauline!

LOVE all of these beautiful ladies! I mean, come on, how stunning are these girls?!

I made this frame because I thought it would be really a cute addition to backyard pics. I picked up the wood from my local lumber yard, got some fake flowers and twine from Dollarama, painted the finished product chalk white and started glueing. Super easy to put together and definitely worth the time I spent placing all those flowers!

What I’m wearing: Silk Dress (Aritzia), Necklace and Earrings (Stella & Dot and few seasons old)
